Normal Ranges
Normal ranges for each analyte are statistically developed by taking the mean ± 2 S.D.
Definition:
The mean = 12.83
Using our data for hemoglobin:
The S.D. = 0.48
Then ± 2 S.D. = 0.96
The Normal range would then be:
12.83 + 0.96 = 13.79 or 14
12.83 - 0.96 = 11.89 or 12
12 mg/dL – 14 mg/dL
