Not to be refrigerated
Refrigerated =
2 – 5 days
Frozen (-20oC) =
A patient on oral anticoagulant therapy should
have the PT at what range:
INR of 2.0 – 2.5 or 2
to 2.5 times normal control
How long after heparin is administered to the patient should you wait to collect
specimen for PT testing::
No need to wait - if
reagent is sensitive to heparin then PT is run and note made that heparin is
present
