Usually no
granules in cytoplasm – may have a few azurophilic granules
Moderate to
deep blue cytoplasm, pale to light blue, clear to pale blue as cell size increases
No nucleoli
normally seen – may be few in large lymphocytes
Dense and
clumped chromatin to less clumped as cell size increases
Small cell has
decreased cytoplasm to nuclear ratio (C:N)
Large cell has
increased cytoplasm to nuclear ratio (C:N)
