Monoclonal
anti-glutamic acid at 6th amino acid is added to lyzed red cells in one
well and will react if Hb A. Monoclonal anti-valine at 6th amino acid
is added to 2nd well and will react if Hb S. If neither reacts
it may
be Hb C which has lysine at 6th amino acid.
This test
is more sensitive to low Hb S levels
