Kinin
System Factors
The kinin system acts as an
amplification loop for coagulation system and has these factors :
Fletcher factor – also called
prekalikrein
Fitzgerald factor – also called High
Molecular Weight Kininogens (HMWK)
What is a zymogen:
These are the inactive form of the
enzyme (coagulation
protein) such as factor V or factor VII etc.
When the factors become active they
are designated as factor Va or factor VIIa etc.
