levels when heparin is present and prolongs Thrombin time.
Used to screen for fibrinogen
deficiencies of:
hypofibrinogenemia
dysfibrinogenemia
afibrinogenemia
Will be prolonged if fibrin split
products (FSP) are present or patient on streptokinase therapy
