Specimen requirements:
2 mL of fresh whole blood (syringe)
is added to special tubes (light blue top)
Incubated at RT for 30 – 60 minutes
Principle:
Latex particles coated with anti-FDP
will agglutinate when increased levels of FDPs are present.
Centrifuged and plasma used for
testing
