Function:
Measures primary hemostasis, specifically capillary fragility
Principle of test:
Pressure cuff on upper arm is set ½ way between systolic and diastolic pressure(>80 but <100) for 5 minutes.
The number of petechiae (small red dots caused by capillary bed leakage) in an area the size of a quarter are counted.
