Definition:
a procedure
in which a reagent antigen is adsorbed unto a solid phase and the patient=s sample is added (antibody). An labeled anti-human globulin (AHG) is then added and the amount of bound, labeled AHG is then
measured.

containing the unlabeled antibody is then added and will bind with the labeled antigen
forming Ag-Ab complexes
bound to solid phase

step is necessary to remove the unbound immunoglobulins from system
