E Principle for ASO titer assay:
The procedure
is based on the fact that anti- streptolysin antibodies will neutralize or inhibit
streptolysin toxin from hemolyzing red blood cells.
E Procedure for ASO titer assay:
U serial
dilution of patient serum (ASO) made
U commercially
prepared Streptolysin O is added to each tube then incubated
U human type O
red blood cells are added
U tubes
centrifuged and checked for hemolysis
