Panning or plating
a plastic plate
is coated with monoclonal antibodies with cell marker specificity and sample is added to
plate. Cells with specific cell markers are bound to
antibodies while those lacking cell markers are washed off
Nylon wool column (Straw method)
B-cells will
adhere to nylon wool packed in a straw while T-cells are flushed out.
Cell sorting with flow cytometry
fluorochrome
labeled antibodies bind with specific cell markers and the resulting tagged cells are separated
by flow cytometer
