•Whenever an antiglobulin test is negative these red blood cells are added and must agglutinate before the antiglobulin test can be called negative.

•1. Failure to add antiglobulin reagent to test tube
•What can cause false negative result:
•2. Failure of antiglobulin reagent to react
•3. Failure to adequately wash red cells in test tube results in patient globulins neutralizing the antiglobulin reagent
