Wright’s stain:

Wright-Giemsa stain:
Methylene blue
Methylene blue azure
 Procedure for staining :
1. Dip in absolute methanol to fix blood to slide
2. Add stain
Methylene blue
3. Add buffer to green sheen (pH 6.4 – 6.8)
4. Rinse with distilled water
5. Air dry rapidly

Gives best distribution of leukocytes
Only used for bone marrow aspirates – hard to handle
