Process:
When
either folic acid or B12 is deficient,
thymidine nucleotide production is halted
As
DNA replication proceeds, where ever thymidine is required
to pair with adenine, uracil may be inserted
DNA
becomes nonfunctional unless uracil is replaced by
thymine during repair process.
Cell
division is halted.
Results
in a cell that has an immature nucleus inside a mature
cytoplasm “asynchronism”
Results
in a cell that is very large.
