Hypertonic Cryohemolysis Test
Principle:
When
patient’s red cells are incubated in hypertonic solution at 00C
hours only minimal hemolysis should occur.
Clinical application:
In patients with H. spherocytosis there is increased
hemolysis.

6% false positives in normal and 14% false positives
in autoimmune hemolytic anemias.
