Hemolytic Disease of Newborn - 2
Lab findings:
The ASC on mother shows positive for anti-D
Titers of 1:16 or 1:32 indicate possibility of hydrops fetalis
RhoGAM (anti-anti-D) given at 28th week of gestation to all Rh(D) negative – pregnant women
ASC done on 1st OB visit
ASC repeated at 20th week gestation
ASC repeated every 6 weeks until delivery
Prevention:
Treatment if mothers titer increases:
Exchange transfusions on fetus
RhoGAM given within 72 hours of delivery if baby Rh(D) positive
