Principle:
The
DNA or RNA probe is labeled with a haptene such as
biotin.
Both
the probe and the cells are in metaphase or interphase
and are denatured and hybridized together.
Conjugated
antibody to the haptene is added and binds with
probe giving a visible pattern.
