Agnogenic Myeloid Metaplasia-1
Pathophysiology:
A clonal disorder with ineffective hematopoiesis which results in hypercellularity, increased megakaryocytes, marrow fibrosis, immature granulocytes & erythrocytes, and poikilocytosis in pb, and splenomegaly.
Seen more commonly in older age group
Incidence:
Marrow hypercellularity
Lab features:
Increased megakaryocytes – large and atypical
Increased fibrosis of bone marrow
Increased number of immature granulocytes in pb
Increased number of erythroblasts in pb
Increased number of poikilocytes in pb (dacryocytes)
