Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma - 1
Pathophysiology:
Neoplastic noncontiguous proliferation of lymphoid tissue that differ in microscopic appearance, immunologic cell origin, and biologic behavior.
Incidence:
Most common neoplasm in 20 – 40 year olds
More common than Hodgkin lymphoma
Those at higher risk include:
Transplant patients on immunosuppressive therapy
Patients with autoimmune disorders such as:
SLE, RA, Sjögrens syndrome, AIDS
Patients with:
Sjögrens syndrome, AIDS, or Hodgkin’s
Patients exposed to:
Chemicals, pesticides, or organic solvents
