Other Coagulation factors - II
Factor IV – ionized calcium:
Free in plasma as cation Ca++
It is necessary for several steps in coagulation
Platelet factor 3 (PF3):
Platelet derived phospholipid
Provides the surface for coagulation complexes to be formed on
A multimeric glycoprotein produced by:
Endothelial cells
Carry receptor sites for; collagen, glycoprotein Ib/IX , gp IIb/IIIa on platelets, and factor VIII
Megakaryocytes
von Willebrand factor (vWF):
Weibel-Palade bodies = vWF stored in alpha granules of platelets and in endothelial cells
