Principle:
PF4 is added to surface
of microplate wells
If heparin-induced
antiplatelet antibodies are present they will attach to PF4 in wells
Enzyme tagged anti-IgG
added and incubated then washed
Patient serum/plasma plus
heparin added and incubated then washed
Interpretation of results:
Enzyme specific
chromogenic substrated added and incubated
Color = positive for HIT
No color = negative for
HIT
