Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia -2
Incidence:
1 in 1000 – 2000 newborns
50% may show up in first pregnancy
75 – 97% of newborns show up in
subsequent pregnancies
Prognosis:
25% will die due to intracranial
hemorrhages while in utero
Intravenous injections of
immunoglobulins given to mother
Washed maternal platelets given to
fetus
Therapy:
