+ agonist added
PRP added to cuvette + stir bar
Platelets change shape – discoid to
spherical
This allows more light
to pass
Platelets then form aggregates
As aggregates form
more light passes through
Abnormalities detected:
Failure to change
shape
Instrument measures and plots change
in light transmitted
through solution
Failure to aggregate
