The
Units (also called Chapters) were originally created in Microsoft
Power Point for the purpose of in-class presentations. However,
they have been converted into "html" pages for publication
to the web. This allows students to study class information on
their own time - wherever they have access to the Internet. These
presentations may also be used in conjunction with the appropriate
text in distance learning applications.
Instructions:
From the
Professional Page - choose your class, and use the drop-down
menu to locate the "Units" (or "OSF" information)
for that class. Select the specific Unit by clicking on it,
then click the "GO" button.
Each Unit
is designed to come up in a new browser window that can be manipulated
without losing your place at the Professional Page.
You can
minimize, maximize, and drag the new window. When finished,
you can close the window by clicking on the "x" in
the top right corner of the window. When the window closes,
you should once again be looking at the Professional Page, and
be able to make your next selection.
There are
two ways to view each Unit. The first is to use the outline
of the various pages to be presented in the Unit. By clicking
on a specific heading, your browser will jump to that page and
display all information from that page.
However,
to view in the Power Point format, click on the "Slide
Show" button at the bottom right hand of the window. This
will allow the Unit to take over your entire screen. Now you
must click the mouse to move ahead through the presentation.
The slide show feature allows you to quiz yourself as you go,
because only certain information is presented with each click
of the mouse. To get out of the slide show, hit the "Esc"
button on your keyboard, or right click your mouse and select
"End Show."
This will
return you to the initial version of the Unit with the outline
view. To return to the Professional Page simply close this window
by clicking on the "x" at the top right corner of
the browser window.
