Item Frame Combo Lock

The item frame combo lock is nothing short of reliable. This circuit only opens a door when the items in the frames are rotated in the correct position. Since the items can rotate eight times, there are 64 possible combinations with only two frames! For those of you who want to use at least five, there are 32,768 different possibilities! Griefers who try to figure out the lock probably have a severe case of no life.

An item frame outputting a power level of one. An item frame outputting a power level of two. An item frame outputting a power level of three.

An item frame outputting a power level of four. An item frame outputting a power level of five. An item frame outputting a power level of six.

An item frame outputting a power level of seven. An item frame outputting a power level of eight.

Depending on the item's rotation (any item works), the redstone comparator hooked up to the block carrying the frame outputs a power level varying chronologically from one to eight. This can be exploited in a way that uses multiple frames to make a lock that's almost uncrackable.

The correct combination with the door closed.

The image above shows the correct combination that allows the iron door to open (it could be a piston door as well). The next three images show one item frame messed up that makes the iron door close.

The wrong combination. The wrong combination. The wrong combination.

The circuitry consists of three circuits that only turn off when the power is correct, and all three feed into a NOR gate (all inputs must be OFF for the output to turn ON. If one or more inputs is on, the output is OFF.).

The circuit when the door is closed. The circuit when the door is open.

As seen in the images, the door is closed when the circuit is on, and open when the circuit is off. If this is done correctly, the door will open when the combination is right, and will close when one or more frames is messed up. You can use as many item frames as you want with this!
