A Christmas picture of the children at Open Arms.

Above left is Mrs. Margret East with Esther,
and to the right is Mrs. Davona Church with Mphatso.
Open Arms is the reliezed dream of Davona Church.
It began operating in Jan 1995. It is totally funded by
donations from well-wishers. All the administrators
are voluteers, and the only paid personnel, are the
Malawian care-givers. All contributions go directly
for the care of the babies.

Brenda HIV+ and T.B.

Ronnie, one of the Open Arms Caregivers, feeds
Blessings his lunch. Nsima, which is a cornmeal porridge
and relish of greens, egg, tomato and onion.
Nsima is the staple food, always served with
relish - which varies.
Blessings had a bone infection in his right arm, which
has destroyed the groth plate. His arm will likely not
grow anymore, and although he cannot bend his elbow,
he can grasp with his fingers and move his arm by using
his shoulder. He's a happy boy.

Marie
Struggled and struggled for life -
then we found she had T.B. so we began
treating her.
She gains weight every week now.

Most of our boys are toddlers an wouldn't lie
still for the photo.
We have from 20-30 babies in care at any given time.
In two years Open Arms has cared for over 100 infants.
Everyone at Open Arms thanks you for your support.
