Indian Scouts

Indian scouts were frontiersmen whom the United States Army hired to find Native Americans during the Indian Wars. The Indian scouts tracked the Native Americans so that the soldiers could capture or kill them. When the eastern tribes settled down, some of the scouts from Tennessee, including Davy Crockett, went to join the Texans in their fight for independence.
