1865: Worthington Whittredge in his Tenth Street Studio.   After returning to the States Leutze became a member of The Tenth Street Studio Building, which was a building erected in 1857 by James Boorman Johnston. This building became very popular with artist and eventually received an astonishing number of major American artists working in the three floors of studios encircling a central gallery. Members included famous painters such as, William Merritt Chase, Albert Bierstadt, Frederic E. Church, William Haseltine, Martin Johnson Heade, John La Farge and Emanuel Leutze. This picture shows Worthington Whittredge in his studio behind his easel.
