Christi Hodges, the new coordinator for guest and convention services at Andrews University, brings a lifetime of Southern hospitality to the role. Hodges says, “As a Southerner from the Deep South, we truly value the gift of hospitality. I want to assure our guests and visitors at Andrews University feel comfortable and at ease during their stay here.”
 
Hodges and her family moved to Berrien Springs, Mich. in February 2008 when her husband, Dale, accepted the position as director of Public Safety at Andrews University. When her family was finally settled into their new home and the children were into a routine in their new schools, she began to consider her options. After spending the last 20 years in healthcare as a nurse, Hodges wanted to face a new challenge. Now, as guest and convention services coordinator since mid-October, she is responsible for assuring visitors have a memorable and enjoyable stay on campus. Hodges says of her new post, “As the new coordinator of guest and convention services at Andrews University, I hope to bring a love for all people and a sense of warmth and hospitality. Andrews is such a warm and loving place. You feel that you are among the family of God when you arrive on campus.”

Hodges describes herself as valuing customer service and attributes it, in part, to her years of service in the healthcare field. She has made a personal goal to ensure each university guest is “pleased with their visit to Andrews and wants to return.”

Hodges embraces her family’s new home in Berrien Springs and considers their relocation an answer to prayer. “Sometimes it is hard to believe that our lives have so radically changed (for the better), but when you ask God for something and believe, He will work miracles! Every day we thank God for His mercy and goodness in moving our family to Berrien Springs and for the multitude of blessings He has given to us!”

Hodges and her husband have two children, Cooper, a freshman at Andrews Academy, and Colton, a third-grade student at Ruth Murdoch Elementary School.
