Jobs at Andrews

Faculty/Staff Positions:

Faculty and staff positions are listed on the Jobs section of the HR web page. New jobs are posted daily as they become available.

Those wishing to apply for any of the posted positions should fill out the online employment application on the job listing found here.

Once the Human Resources office has received the application, it will be sent, along with a resume if the applicant so wishes, to the department hiring for the specified position. The department will analyze all of its applicants and set up interviews with those it chooses. It is also appropriate for applicants to contact the department to make them aware of their interest in a position. If time passes and you have not heard from the department you are interested in, please call the department.

When hired, applicants should bring proof of US job eligibility (examples include, a US passport; a US drivers license AND an original social security card; or a 'green card').

Applicants will then also complete a W-4 tax form and an I-9 employment form. At this time the employee will begin his/her new position.

If you have any questions regarding the job search process, please give us a call at (269) 471-3570, or contact us by email at: employment@andrews.edu.

Student Positions

Andrews University provides a wide variety of student jobs on campus. Students needing a job may view the job openings online at the Student Job Postings board or jobs are posted daily as they become available.

To qualify for a student position, you must be taking a full class load. A full load is defined as 12 undergraduate credits, 8 graduate credits, 9 M.Div credits or a full load equivalency in the English Language Institute Program. The Employment Coordinator must approve all exceptions.

Off campus jobs are posted on the bulletin board outside of our office. When you find a job that interests you, contact the employer at the number given on the posting.

Students wishing to gain on-campus employment must first come to the Employment Office to fill out any necessary paperwork and submit documentation that proves identity and employability. See Hiring Procedures on the Student Labor General Information page. Once all the paperwork is complete, an Employment Officer will verify eligibility for employment and issue a Permission to Be Employed Form, which is an orange half-sheet form that most employers will ask to see before hiring.

Some on campus positions may require the potential employee to take a battery of office skills tests. The tests include basic office skills, customer service skills and typing skills. An appointment time to take these tests can be made at the Employment Office. These tests take approximately one hour to administer and test results will be available immediately following the testing.

When a student is hired, the employer will give the new employee a rate sheet or some other form of intent to hire, which will be brought to the Employment Office enabling the new employee to be placed on the payroll system.

If you have any questions regarding the student job search process, please give us a call at 269. 471. 3570 or contact us by email at studentlabor@andrews.edu.
