The Percussionist Bible: Web Edition
Profiles

Our drumline at NHS has 10 members, not including pit percussion. There are four bass drummers, two snares, two tenors, and two cymbals. That might sound like a lot, but really it's a pretty small line. Here's a little bit about each person.

Jeff Mcomber
Grade: 12
Age: 17
Intrument: Tenors

Jeff is our section leader for drumline, and is absolutely the GREATEST! Below is a pic of him and our friend Tori, a trumpet player. Even though Jeff's a senior (our last one!), he's still really nice to the under classmen, so age doesn't even matter. He's definitly one of my favorite drummers ever!
Grade:11
Age:17
Instrument:Tenors

Matt is so Fantastic! He's really good at tenors, and is super-duper nice. Him and Danielle are always play fighting, but we all love each other. He's on the tennis team, and we always make fun of him because earlier this year he hit himself in the face with his racket and lost his teeth. It was pretty funny, but we felt so bad for him!
Matt Ftacek
Andrew Villa
Grade:11
Age:17
Instrument:Snare

Andrew is our lead snare drummer who does taps and starts our cadances. He's always making fun of my "accent", but we have a lot of fun together. He's on the soccer team, and from what I hear he's pretty good. We all love his so much!
Grade: 10
Age: 16
Instrument: Snare

Andrew is the only sophomore on the line. He's not really as close to us as everyone else, but he's still pretty cool. Andrew is ALWAYS goofing off, and I mean ALWAYS. It gets kinda annoying sometimes, but on the line we're all a little special!
Andrew Wortham
Kate Hein
Grade:11
Age:16
Instrument:Bass Drum 3

Kate is like the mother of drumline. She's always keeping us in step and yelling commands. She's also a section leader. Kate's a genius- she goes to Andrews, too. She's a great friend, and a great percussionist.
Grade: 9
Age: 15
Instrument: Bass Drum 1

This is my first year on the line, and it was so much fun. I'm the shortest on the line, and I get made fun of a lot because of it. I did great at drumline tryouts, so I got the cute tiny bass drum. Mostly, I just hang out with my friends and do school work (fun! fun! fun!). This has been the greatest year so far...I love my new family!
Shimen Tackett (ME!!!!!)
Shawn Mooney
Grade: 9
Age: 14
Instrument: Bass Drum 4

Shawn has always been one of my favorite people. He's really funny, and talented. He can do the Soulja Boi dance perfectly! I kinda felt bad for him this year, though, because he had the biggest drum, and his back even bled. Shawn's the kinda guy you never forget, even when you're old and wrinkly.
Grade: 9
Age: 14
Instrument: Bass Drum 2

Danielle and I really haven't gotten along that well through our band years, but this year has actually been really good. We call her "Private Complaint" because she's always complaining about something. It's also really fun when her and Jeff "fight" to make me mad. It's been a fun year with her so far.
Danielle Duffy
Jessie Sebastion
Grade: 9
Age: 14
' Instrument: Cymbals

Jessie and I have always been pretty good friends. This marching season, she got hurt so much. She sprained her ankle and her rib and had to sit out of most things. She even passed out at the Apple Festival Parade. She's a lot of fun, and a total klutz.
Grade: 9
Age: 14
Instrument: Cymbals

Matt joined band last year from Brandywine. He was a decent cymbal player, but had surgery at the end of the year, limiting his playing. He's not really that close with everyone else, and can be VERY odd at times. He's ok, though.
Matt Dodge
