Airport Catastrophes

My Expirience

I have my own expirience with airport catastrophes. It was a warm summer night in Charlotte, North Carolina .... My family and I had to catch a flight at 8:30 p.m. to go to O'Hare Airport in Chicago. We were ready to go home. We rushed to the place where we were supposed to wait for the plane. We finally learned that it was delayed and went to get some dinner at the food court. Let me tell you, it is fun to get energy off of vault at 10 at night. I was tired and pumped at the same time. My dad went with me to jog around the empty food court. They had these things that were like escalators, only they were flat. My dad and I ran on one the wrong way and we had to sprint to get off of it. We were breathless from laughing and running at the same time. It was great. A whole bunch of flights got cancelled, and we thought ours would be cancelled, too. Luckily, it was not cancelled, and we were on the runaway at 1:30 a.m. Then the pilot announced that we had to burn off some gas because the runaway size was wrong. We sat there for an hour, and then finally took off. We got to Chicago at 6:30, and arrived home at 9 a.m. I slept until 4 in the afternoon. It was good and bad at the same time. I just hope that it never happens again.

Unnacompanied Minors

There is a movie out about these kids that get stranded at the airport on Christmas Eve. They meet each other in the room the airport has for kids that are flying alone. It's crazy and messy in there- so the four kids that met by chance decided to get out. Then, the overworked head of the airport chases them around (a grump whose flight to Hawaii has just been cancelled). The kids bond over trying to get out of this mess, and you will be laughing at their mishaps.

Airport Goods

Airport stuff is always sooo expensive, especially in the big cities, if you want fast food, plan on spending at least $8 or $9 per person. It's also not any better that regular fast food!! Usually you have a lot of choices, though.
If you want to buy souvenirs, they are also expensive. They are kind of cheapy, and fall apart as soon as you get home. You can also buy alchohol or perfume there, so that you can carry it on the plane. They usually have bookstores and a couple of accessory stores to keep you busy.

Top Airports

I have only been to O'Hare,South Bend Airport, Miami Airport (who knows which one), San Juan Airport, and the Charlotte Airport (recently). I really don't like O'Hare that much, but I like the train-thingie that you ride. It's fun. I've never flown out of South Bend, but I hate their old train to Chicago. We were only in the Miami one for 40 minutes, so I really don't know. The San Juan Airport was confusing, and I hate the Charolatte Airport (I wonder why?).
Here is a good list of top airports.

Worst Airports

I really don't know what they exhist of, but I remember the Charolatte Tiolets (all of them) were out of order. Their chairs weren't comfortable, although they had good stores and the architecture of the building was nice.

Best Seats in the House

Besides first class, the best seats are right behind it. You usually get some leg room, and you get served snacks and beverages first (usually). You also usually get a pretty good view of a T.V. screen. The worst seats are in the middle of the plane squished in between two people.

Top Airlines

I have never went on a new plane, or rode on first class. I have no expirience with this, but this list is fantastic. I bet that all those are really expensive, but it might be worth it.

Worst Airlines

American Airlines are pretty stinky, as are United. We rode in really old airplanes. Their movie screens were bad, and we couldn't see half the time. They really didn't play anything good, either.
