Mackinac Island is one of the most beautiful places in Michigan. It offers a wide range of sailing opportunities, from free sailing to yacht cruises. There is also the option to help crew with trimming sails on a racing boat.

Saugatuck, MI

There are three sailing clubs located in or near Saugatuck, Michigan. These are the Saugatuck Yacht Club, Singapore Yacht Club, and Sweetwater Sailing. The coastline of southwest michigan offers a wide range of cruises and free sailing.

Culver, IN

Culver, Indiana is located on the shore of Lake Maxikuckee. There is a summer program located at Culver Academies that includes 6 weeks of naval courses at Culver Summer Schools and Camps for 14-17 year olds. Sailing instructions also get to enjoy sailing all summer long. Culver Academies has one of the best high school sailing teams in the US. Outside of the schools, the lake provides a beautiful place for free sailing.
