Biography

As a leader I must understand that I can’t do everything. I must be realistic about my ability and availability to serve others and as a result, avoid offering services that I cannot provide.

With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work, I practiced in the field for 10 years as a Mental Health practitioner and Human Services Administrator for the local county government. For the past fifteen years, I have been a teacher in the School of Social Work at WWU. My specialty areas include: Management and Administration, Policy, and Grief and Loss.

I am a homebody who loves food, fun, and friends. I love to read (good things) and I enjoy nothing more than a good book and a cup of tea. My personal mission statement is “Intentional, thoughtful service to others”.

I have been married 33 years to a delightful man. We have two daughters, age 28 and 30, the youngest of which was married June of 2005.
