Technology and Leadership

Does Carrying a Smart Phone and an iPad Make a Principal a Technology Leader?

In this so-called Digital-Age, many principals, teachers and students use technologies which give them mobile access to information and learning resources on a continuous 24/7 basis.  So, what must a principal really know about the latest technologies to be a strong and visionary technology leaders?  Many school principals feel that they must become technology experts to keep ahead.  Many feel inadequate if they are not conversant with the lateset and greatest technologies used by students and colleagues.  Often, if they are not carrying a smart phone, or an iPad, they feel they are not technologically "with it".  Can't principals be strong instructional leaders without knowing about, or using, the latest technologies?
