Who: High School Seniors and New Incoming Freshman

The Summer Leadership Lab will offer new high school seniors and incoming first-time freshman an exciting leadership opportunity in the summer months. Students can enjoy all of the benefits of the Early College Experience while participating in leadership training designed for current high school leaders. This 3-week experience will be offered by the Andrews University L.I.F.E. Center and will focus on skill development and unlocking leadership potential. Students can participate in both the Leadership Lab and the Summer Honors Scholars.
Students must have served in a leadership role in the past year, be elected to serve in a role in the upcoming school year, or receive a nomination from a faculty or staff member at their school. The “Be the Salt” application must be submitted and have a verification signature by the school official or program coordinator of the leadership activity in which the student participated. In addition, each student should submit an essay explaining the leadership role they have served or plan to serve in the future as well as a recommendation from the activity supervisor. Applications will be reviewed in the order they were received and a maximum of 15 scholarships will be awarded. Applications must be received no later than June 15, 2019.
Applicants who meet these requirements will receive a scholarship in the amount of $250. Students can receive this scholarship a maximum of two summers, for a total of $500. The scholarship can not be used for programs other than the Early College Experience Summer Leadership Lab. Students can receive both the Be the Salt Leadership Award and the Early Bird discount.
