Conference on Adventist Identity

Andrews University

October 13–16, 2022

This conference will provide a foundation for a series of global conferences on the central elements of Adventist identity. Each conference will explore Adventist identity from multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural perspectives.

The following questions will be explored:

What is the heart of Adventist identity? What are its essential elements? How are core aspects perceived and understood in different parts of the world? What elements define the identity of any group (beliefs, praxis, shared history, worldview, etc.)? How do Adventists worldwide arrive at a shared identity? How is an identity lost? Can some aspects of Adventist identity vary? Does missional success require some adaptation of Adventist identity or only of how it is presented?

This Conference is Hosted by the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University and sponsored by Biblical Research Institute; Ellen G. White Estate; Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research
