Seek. Affirm. Change.

Andrews University’s motto, “Seek Knowledge. Affirm Faith. Change the World." is more than a tagline. The motto speaks to the intent of the institution to bring about positive change through education. Through the slogan, “World Changers Made Here,” it emphasizes its longstanding mission to train and equip individuals to use their passion, talents, resources and skills to improve the world around them.

Change does not happen in a vacuum. Effective change must take place in a community. Andrews University is seeking opportunities to gain community accreditation and develop a community presence that is driven by empathy. We seek opportunities to connect.

We demonstrate our faith not only through the parsing of biblical truths but also by serving our neighbor. As we celebrate our diversity, we work with varied population groups and aim to create non-judgment opportunities to listen and develop empathy. Caring for others affirms our faith.

We are committed to providing each student with the opportunity to engage local and global communities. We support pedagogical approaches that incorporate in-service learning and promote the common good. Our initiatives in education, health, science, music and architecture are developed in collaboration with community stakeholders, university departments, students and professors. We are exploring new collaborations to build capacity and create additional programs that benefit the residents—especially the underserved populations—of Southwest Michigan. World Changers impact the world starting with their community.
