Apply to be a GC Page

The Andrews University Office of Integrated Marketing & Communication is now accepting student page applications for the 59th Session of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, in Atlanta, Ga., June 23–July 3, 2010. Pages will have an opportunity for an up-close look at the business of the world Church and network with leaders from all corners of the earth.
General Conference is foremost the quinquennial business session for the world Church, electing leadership and discussing church policy. Additionally, the purpose, according to Jan Paulsen, president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, “goes to the heart of our identity and mission. Through these gatherings we powerfully affirm that we are one people, united in faith, and bound by our shared desire to be instruments of God's purpose in the world.” The session theme is “Proclaiming God’s Grace.” Attendance is typically about 70,000 people.
Andrews University, a GC institution and educational servant to the world Church, is seeking hard-working, poised and professional students who love Andrews to serve as pages at the GC Session. We will be looking for a diversity of language skills and a variety of academic disciplines, graduate and undergraduate. The General Conference will assign those selected to serve GC staff in administrative areas such as, but not limited to, session management, communication and Secretariat, as helping hands to conference management, delegates and guests throughout the session.
For their service, student pages will receive a $700 scholarship to be applied toward the 2010–2011 academic year. Pages will also be provided with hotel accommodations, two meal tickets per day and round-trip transportation to the session in Atlanta.
Students interesting in applying to be a General Conference page can pick up an application at the Office of Integrated Marketing & Communication or via download. Two letters of reference must also be submitted with the application. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2010.
