Rose moved to the Michiana area in 2020 to be near family and to work at Andrews University, leaving the Washington, D.C./Maryland area where she worked 40 years as a professional musician. Her musical career there included performances as a solo pianist, collaborative pianist, choral conductor, and educator. As a teacher she taught in higher education for 12 years, K-12 classroom music for 7 years and as an independent piano instructor throughout. She also was the music director at a United Methodist Church for 25 years. As an adjunct faculty member Rose teaches some piano lessons, the online music appreciation course, and accompanies students and faculty as needed. Together with her husband they are active in church music in their local Adventist church, particularly as a piano/organ duo.
