The AU Wind Symphony, under the direction of Alan Mitchell, toured to Switzerland and Southern France, March 15-25, 2007.  This tour was their fourth European tour in the last seven years. Performances were presented at Campus Adventiste du Salėve and SDA churches in Geneva, Nice, and Montpellier.  The Wind Symphony concert in Montpellier was presented as an outreach program to the local community.  The offering taken at the concert was used to help fund food for the homeless in Montpellier.

The ensemble was enthusiastically received at their performances.  They were impressed by the quality of the organization and by the effort put forth by Andrews University students to come and perform for them.

The students also visited the medieval cities of St Paul de Vence and Les Baux, the Pope’s Palace in Avignon, a perfume factory in Grasse, a Roman theater still in use in Orange, the country side that Van Gogh made famous in his paintings, the ancient Roman aqueducts at Pont du Gard,  and a Roman archaeological site in Glanum near St. Remy.
