Biography

Jean Cadet, PhD, MD, MPH, MDiv, serves as the Chair and Associate Professor at the Andrews University School of Population Health, Nutrition & Wellness. With over 30 years of experience spanning general medicine and public health, Dr. Cadet brings a wealth of global expertise to his academic leadership.

His distinguished public health career includes serving as an epidemiologist and data analyst for the Virginia Department of Health and as a Public Health Prevention Specialist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). During his tenure with the CDC, he provided critical technical assistance to the New Hampshire State Health Department and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Guinea, West Africa. Dr. Cadet was also instrumental in the CDC’s emergency response following the 2010 Haitian earthquake and the subsequent cholera outbreak.

As a clinician, Dr. Cadet served as a primary care provider in rural Haiti, where he observed the profound intersection of spirituality and healthcare. This holistic perspective informs his current role as Director of Gospel, Health and Education Ministries, a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting healthy behaviors and spiritual outreach in the U.S. and overseas.

Dr. Cadet holds an MD from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Haiti and is ECFMG certified. He earned an MPH in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, a Master of Divinity from Andrews University, and a PhD in Public Health (Epidemiology) from Walden University. A dedicated leader within the Seventh-day Adventist Church for over three decades, he has served in numerous capacities, including as a field health coordinator for ADRA and as a leader for multiple medical mission trips to Haiti.
