Why should you choose Andrews University for your speech pathology or audiology degree? How does a close-knit school, with small classes and individualized attention from faculty sound? What about practical hands-on experience? That’s what you’ll get here at Andrews! Our professors go out of their way to make sure students understand the material covered, and are always concerned for their general welfare.
Your learning will be amplified with courses such as Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing where you will be able to study the intricacies of speech and hearing; this class also goes to the cadaver lab where the student is able to see, up close, God’s amazing design of the human body.
The school has a Speech and Hearing clinic which is open to the surrounding community and provides services such as Speech and Hearing Evaluations, Speech Therapy and testing for Central Auditory Processing. Junior and Senior students participate in these services which gives them the opportunity to practice the skills learned in the classroom. This hands-on approach gives students practical experience which aids in the decision as to which career path is right for them.
Your learning will take place in a positive Christian environment where the professors give awesome worships and the student-formed Speech & Hearing Club provides a caring peer support system. Our students are often found hanging out together—in study and worship, at meals and play.
Membership in Andrews University’s local chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA) opens the door to opportunities for scholarships, research ideas, support and networking with other speech and hearing students across the country.
Andrews is the right choice because here you have the chance to connect with your teachers and fellow students, refine your interests through hands-on experience, and make life-long friends in the midst of your learning.
