Andrews University is grateful to be a SPEAK OUT!® Therapy and Research Center in the state of Michigan. Our Speech & Hearing Clinic offers the SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program both in-person and through teletherapy to individuals in Michigan and Indiana.

The SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program, developed by Parkinson Voice Project®, helps people with Parkinson's regain and retain their speech and swallowing. The program combines education for the patient and family, individual speech therapy, daily home practice using workbooks, flashcards, and online practice sessions, along with weekly speech groups, and regular re-evaluations.

Following Parkinson Voice Project’s “Circle of Intent” therapeutic model we are pleased to offer:

  • SPEAK OUT! Evaluations
  • Individual Speech Therapy
  • Engaging Weekly SPEAK OUT! Group Sessions
  • Refresher Sessions Every 3-6 Months

Our services are available both in-person at our clinic in Berrien Springs and online for your convenience at no cost to patients.

To facilitate your journey through the SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program, we also connect our patients with Parkinson’s Voice Project’s essential resources and materials, including SPEAK OUT! Workbooks, E-Library access, and a Learn About Parkinson’s Webinar. Additionally, we conduct research and offer valuable research opportunities to advance our understanding and treatment of communication disorders related to Parkinson’s Disease and the efficacy of the SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program.

Furthermore, we actively engage with various support groups, exercise groups, and other events by delivering informative sessions on Parkinson's disease and the SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program. Our services extend to conducting workshops aimed at enhancing awareness of communication and swallowing disorders associated with Parkinson's disease as well.

Our clinic serves as a training facility for graduate students and follows the university calendar for breaks and holidays.

We are fully equipped and eager to support you.
