Course Description:

Following this class a student should be able to:

  1. Understand the literary design and theology of the gospel of Matthew in relation to other Synoptics;
  2. Employ hermeneutical tools for study and meaningful interpretation of Matthew’s theological ideas.
  3. Explain the primary meaning of the text in its literary context.
  4. Write a scholarly biblical theology paper.
  5. Use the class material for preaching and teaching.
  6. Develop an ability for original thinking and critical judgment
