MA in Pastoral Ministry
CHIS 505 Survey of Church History

Professor: Trevor O'Reggio
Date: March 27-31, 2016
Location: Southwestern Adventist University, Keene, Texas
Course Description:
This course Shows both the uniqueness and the commonality of Seventh-day Adventists among other denominations—commonality, in that the spiritual ancestors of SDAs were Methodists, Baptists, earlier Protestants, and Roman Catholics; uniqueness, in that we press toward the goal of a “finished Reformation.” This both honors the earlier Reformers and reminds us that we cannot be content to do as they did, but we must press on to reclaim all the truth God has revealed. Thus, “we have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and His teaching in our past history.”
