Want to be a Tutor?

 

Tutor Requirements:

• Must have taken the course(s) you wish to tutor.

• Must have a B+ or higher in the course(s).

• Must have 2 positive recommendations from an AU Faculty/Staff.

• Must be in good and regular academic standing.

• Must have a good student life standing. 

• Must be enrolled as a full time undergraduate or graduate student.

• Be able to effectively explain concepts to others.

• Effectively communicate study strategies to ensure academic success.

• Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds.

Tutors must not only be knowledgeable in the course(s) they tutor, but they must be able to communicate: verbally, in writing, and with those from varying social, educational, and cultural backgrounds.

Although we take applications from all students interested in tutoring we hire on a need basis. Students who apply to tutor subjects that we have no requests for will be placed on a waiting list until we have a need for their services.
