Position summary
This full-time faculty position will also serve as Director of the DNP program. This individual will provide the administrative/management direction for this graduate program with a focus in FNP preparation, or DNP preparation or those who are already advanced practice nurses. In addition to administration/management oversight, they would also teach in the DNP program and in the undergraduate program is needed. This individual would answer to the Department of Nursing Chairperson.
Qualifications summary
In summary qualifications include: DNP prepared, FNP certified, FNP experience, formal academic teaching experience, experience with accreditation, evidence of scholarship, experience with online teaching; and Seventh-day Adventist affiliation preferred.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide administrative/management of DNP program
- Teach courses in the DNP program
- Provide Academic advising for DNP students
- Provide advisement of scholarly projects for DNP students
- Chair committees assigned by Department chairperson
- Engage in scholarly activities
- serve on other university or school committees
- Continue to practice as an FNP
- Engage in recrutiment and marketing for the DNP program
- Be responsible for evaluation of DNP program related to program and learning outcomes
- Be responsible for attaining and maintaining accreditation of the DNP program
Supervisory responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications
- DNP - Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree
- FNP - Family Nurse Practitioner Certified
- At least three years as DNP, preferred
- At least 5 years as FNP
- Eligibility for Associate or Full professor rank on Clinical Track
Technical competencies
- Ability to work with Moodle or other educational software
- Ability to teach online
- Has taken some online courses and understand how it works
- Familiarity with microsoft and other computer software
