Cool Technology in a Hot Land: Bringing Internet to the Sahara (and beyond)
Garber Auditorium, Chan Shun Hall
Daryl Gungadoo from Adventist World Radio will describe how technology is used to bring access to the Internet and communication to assist in reaching people for Christ in some of the harshest places on earth.
It is our mission to follow Christ's mandate of Matthew 28:19 to go into
all the world and make disciples... and Andrews University (not just the
Seminary) has played a key role in successfully training and sending
missionaries to the world. The last few decades however, has seen a
proliferation of communication methods with great potential witnessing
platforms.
In our post-modern entourage we have a hard time to imagine agglomerations without electricity and running-water, let alone iphones, blackberries, WirelessZones, Facebook, 2nd Life and BitTorrents. However, with today's technological development in communications, we are the first generation able to reach "all nations" contextually & in their own language!
