Biography

Yazmik Cantillano, LMSW, CCPT, CCATP-CA; Assistant Professor of the MSW program in the Social Work Department and psychotherapist at Life Coach Psychology, Berrien Springs, MI.  Prof.

Cantillano received her Master of Social Work from Andrews University with a certificate in Family Therapy, a Master of Special Education from Fitchburg State University, and a Master’s in Education with Emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction from Atlantic Union College. Prof. Cantillano has worked in diverse environments, including Family Preservation Programs, where she became a supervisor while working with Catholic Charities of West Michigan. She worked in case management and supportive visitation programs for Lewis Cass ISD.

Prof. Cantillano also worked as a psychotherapist for Berrien County Mental Health Authority, where she also participated in the Trauma Informed Committee and was one of the presenters of the Committee.  Prof. Cantillano has completed three tiers from Star Behavioral Health that specialize in treatment for veterans, service men/women, and their families, including certification in CBT for depression in servicemen/women. Prof. Cantillano is currently a certified complex trauma professional. Prof. Cantillano has also worked for 10 years as a teacher, with the last 6 years working with special education students at a high school level. Currently, Prof. Cantillano is employed as a part-time psychotherapist at Life Coach Psychology in Berrien Springs, MI, and holds different presentations in the community educating on trauma, depression, and anxiety.
